Travel day from Fairbanks to Denali RV Park & Motel, about 7 miles from the entrance to Denali National Park. Our drive was interrupted by several stops at pull-outs to admire and photograph the scenery.
We arrived at our campground before noon so we had lunch in the Unity, some rest (nap) and at 4:00 PM we gathered and drove to the Denali Park Village where we had a huge (all you could eat) dinner of ribs, salmon, mashed potatoes, corn, baked beans, biscuits and berry cobbler for dessert. Surprise, it was good. The servers became the entertainment with lots of music, laughs and fun. Bob sat too close to the stage.
Back to the Unity and to bed as tomorrow promises to be an early morning.
A side note:
Our trip to Juneau back on July 8 had some excitement about the hump-backed whales feeding and how they made a “lunge” from below the fish and came out of the water. We got a photo of this from Amy Davis and thought it might be interesting.
