Day 72

August 9, 2017
Bob left early to take the Unity to Mark’s Repairs to have the front alignment checked and corrected as the outside tread on the passenger side tire has worn away.  There is not an alignment machine in Valdez but Mark was recommended to look at the problem  The lads promptly went to work with the swivel metal plates and pins, found the right side out of alignment by 1/2 inch and corrected it.  Hopefully we have stopped the problem and can get back to Georgetown without further problem.  From Bob’s days in service station work in the 1950’s when there was no such thing as an alignment machine, this should work.  Iris spent her morning at the laundry visiting with a lady that comes every year with her husband and they fish and take their freezer back to Texas full of salmon.  For lunch we went to the Old Town Diner for a hamburger with Paul and Susan then drove to Peter Pan Seafood’s retail shop to purchase some ling cod for our freezer (much smaller quantity).  Several folks on our tour went fishing and have packed freezers and had fish shipped to their homes.  Don’t ask how much per pound it cost.

At 6:00 PM we met at the covered patio for a potluck dinner.  We had a little of everything and had too much of it but it sure was good.  It was again early to bed.
